Payal Beri, PhD

Empathy Storyteller | Podcast Host | Empathy Strategist

I was raised between languages, borders, and expectations.
Indian by heritage. Shaped by the pulse of Dubai, Iraq, Egypt, Australia, and the U.S.
By the time most children were learning where they were from, I was already learning how to adapt, observe, and belong—everywhere and nowhere at once.

By age ten, I had celebrated Eid with my neighbors, lit diyas for Diwali with family, sung Christmas carols at school, and broken bread in homes that didn’t look like mine. What that gave me was curiosity.

Curiosity to sit in difference without fear.
Curiosity to listen without needing to fix.
Curiosity that softened my instincts and sharpened my empathy.

And that curiosity became my greatest teacher.

It taught me that people, no matter where they’re from, want the same things: to be seen, to belong, to protect what matters, and to feel proud of what they build.
That realization became the throughline of my life and my work.

I'm not a self-made woman.
I am a product of collective championship—of professors, mentors, chosen family, and global living rooms that shaped how I move through the world.

They’re why I believe relationships are the real infrastructure of success.

It’s no accident that my core framework is built around compassion, empathy, and accountability.
It’s how I’ve always seen the world.

As a former clinical therapist and organizational psychologist, I spent nearly two decades helping people untangle stories that weren’t theirs—stories shaped by bias, silence, and survival. As a choreographer and performer, I studied the emotional intelligence of movement—how rhythm, breath, and presence can shift how people feel in a space. Today, I bring those worlds together.

Through immersive storytelling, empathy-led strategy, and human-centered design, I help changemakers, founders, and organizations reconnect to what’s real so they can reshape what’s possible for their communities and for our collective future.

This isn’t about inspiration. This is about transformation—personal, cultural, and systemic.
Because I believe that empathy isn’t soft. It’s how we build what’s next
